Ladhak & Kashmir 2010 - Day 4 - Nubra Valley - Diskit & Sumur
3rd July 2010
The huge statue of Maitreya had been still under construction during my previous visit in 09. It was complete now, but the scaffolding was still there.
I and mom climbed up to the pedestal on which the statue was but dad rested down, unwilling to climb.
Sumur did not have many people – it seemed closed. I don’t remember seeing as many different parts of the monastery as I had the last time.
We finished both places in rather short time and headed back to Leh.
Perhaps it is true that we do not got to a place, the place comes to us.
These placed seemed to know my parents weren’t very keen about them.
